First Moon Forever 13

I sat staring at the window as everyone ordered. I could see everyone else as they were, but where I sat was a toddler. I didn’t really notice the waitress leaving or what was ordered. I felt like my entire reality was in question. It was Liliana’s giggling that got my attention. Looking around the table I noticed that she and Winnie both had grins.

“What’s going on?” I looked at myself and seemed normal.

“What do you mean, little miss?” Winnie asked with a slight chuckle. I huffed a little and pointed at the reflection in the window. “Oh, well the world just sees you the same way Miss Liliana does, if she sees fit that is.”

Liliana saw how confused I was and came to my rescue. “Oh dear, do you know anything about the fae?” I nodded, so she continued. “Well, Winnie’s gift was inherited from her grandmother, she was a fae you see. So I can amplify her abilities of glamor. It just seemed easier to talk about you as a child if that was what was seen.” My head was spinning, but as if to help me understand, Winnie started to change her appearance in front of me.

I had never heard of werewolves having anything beyond basic pack magics, but this was wild. I looked back to the window and waved at the little me who waved back. Liliana giggled again and got back to business. “Now, you know that Rachel is now second in command, but at the same time it will be like a princess. She has the power when it counts, but still has to listen to her caretakers day to day. That would be you all… well…” She eyed Nico. “Within reason of course.”

“Whatever. I’m a highly skilled man, I don’t have time to be a babysitter anyways.” Nico scoffed in annoyance.

“Nico, boy, you are nothing more than a very lucky hacker.” Ronnie laughed. “But I agree. Don’t we have more important things to do than take care of the runt?”

“Well of course you have important things to do, but I just want to establish ground rules so there is as little confusion as possible moving forward. The pack is family afterall and Rachel is just the baby of the family now.” I blushed furiously and as if on cue, our waitress placed the sippy cup in front of me and picked up my crayons.

“Don’t you want to color for your mommy?” She asked, offering me the crayons. Liliana nodded, so I took them and started to color the menu. While I colored, I started to focus on what I was doing and not the boring pack business being talked about around me. Only responding with noises and nods when I was asked if I would like to move in with Liliana. At one point I fished my keys out of my purse to give to Ronnie to his dismay. Plans were made for my things to be packed and moved while I still had the hotel room for the rest of the week, but my menu seemed far more important to the little wolf in my mind.

When the food was brought out Marsha hopped up to pull something out of the bag. As she tied the bib around my neck, I blushed looking down at my plate of nuggets and applesauce next to my sippy cup of juice. “Don’t want my little sister getting messy.” She announced with glee to which Lilliana raised an eyebrow.  Marsha blushed herself and grinned, making Liliana smile and nod.

“Thank you sweetie. Very thoughtful.” And as she spoke I saw Marsha suddenly appeared to be about eight. The waitress looking curious for a moment, but smiled.

“What a helpful big sister you are!” She praised Marsha who was taking in her new appearance.

The rest of lunch and the day were pretty low key. Marsha joined us for a bit when we went back to the hotel, she still looked like a kid to me, it seemed pack magic was something I was going to have to learn a lot about.

“So big sister, huh?” Liliana chuckled once we were back in the room. The glamor dropped.

“I mean, is it my thing? No, but it seemed fun, so why not?” Marsha blushed and Liliana smiled.

“Okay, well I think it works fine if Rachel is okay with it.”

“I have always wanted a sister.” I offered with a smile. Marsha gave me a big hug.

“Well pack is family, so you can consider me your big sister!” She seemed very happy with this idea herself.

“Okay, I have to take care of business tomorrow, so you can tag along if you like or you can explore more of the city on your own?” Liliana put on a movie as she spoke.

“I’m off tomorrow if you don’t want to explore alone?” Marsha offered.

“That would be fun! I’d love to get to know my big sister!” I chirped out happily. As the movie started, I recognized it as 100% Wolf.

“You know this is the reason she wanted to be a werewolf right?” Lilliana teased. Marsha giggled and I knew what I wanted to do tomorrow as I stuck my tongue out in a fake pout.

First Moon Forever 6

I was drying my hair when I heard the knock at the door and hurried over to let her in. “I’ll be ready to go in a few minutes if you just want to make yourself comfortable?” I offered, gesturing around the room. This was the first time I’d met someone while I was out of town and had them over to my hotel room the next day. I didn’t know what common etiquette was in this situation, but I wanted to do my best to impress Liliana. She smiled and lightly brushed my shoulder.

“Oh honey, no need to be nervous. I won’t bite.” A shiver went down my spine as I had the invasive thought of ‘I wish you would though.’ She picked one of the chairs. “So, you said there were a few places you wanted to check out. Have anything else planned while in town?”

“Not really, no. Was hoping I’d either find something in one of those spots.” I gestured to my map on the table beside her. “Or maybe there would be more sightings while I was in town. I have to say, you’re the first person I’ve told who hasn’t brushed it off as me being a silly little girl.” By this time, I was seated at a little table with a mirror and had started my makeup.

Liliana laughed softly. “Why would I think it was silly to believe in lore and your dreams? Honestly, I think it’s a very attractive trait to, at the very least, have such an active imagination and hope. But it really feels like conviction and I like that.” Her words came out with a rumble that brought back the warm feeling from the night before.

“Well, thank you. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to talk to anyone about it without them laughing at me or changing the subject as quickly as they could.”

“Oh, of course. Why don’t you tell me more about what you know and I’ll help you pick your outfit for the day.” She tilted her head towards my luggage to punctuate her point.

“Oh, uhhhh… why not.” I had thought it had been a joke when she called, but it seemed not. I shrugged, continuing with my makeup. “So, they stay in packs. Sometimes in the same house, but usually just within their territory. The stronger the alpha, the bigger the territory. From what I can figure out, the alpha here is extremely powerful.” I caught a bit of a rumble as she was picking through my clothes. “I know there would be drawbacks of course, but I’ve wanted it for so long that I don’t really care anymore.”

“What drawbacks do you worry about the most?” She laid out a pair of my shorts and went back to the bag.

“Okay, this may sound silly, but… I really like to swim.” I trailed off a bit.

“Well, yea? What would change there? Can werewolves not swim?” She sounded more amused at this than anything.

“I mean… a lot of lore I’ve seen says that they can’t? Like, their bodies are too dense and they sink.” I felt like I was defending my research project to a teacher at that moment and she giggled a little.

“That would be awful. You know I have a pool… I’d have to get you floats or something. Maybe some of those arm things? Or like the big ring float things that have the underwater seat part?” She was teasing me so much I almost missed a detail.

“Oooooh, did you just casually invite me over to swim in your pool? Wanna see me in my bathing suit, huh?” I cocked my head at her, letting my fringe drape the side of my face, hopefully it was as much of a look as I thought it was in my mind. She grinned at me, putting the rest of the chosen outfit on the bed.

“Guilty. How about you get changed and we go get something to eat? You can tell me more and I can keep picturing you in my pool.” I looked down at the clothes she had picked. Black shorts, my mismatched pink and purple Chuck’s, striped socks and a Pokemon t-shirt I had brought to sleep in. I thought about arguing against the shirt, but something inside told me to just change and have fun. I giggled a bit before dropping the towel to reveal my soft pink bra and panties beneath. I began to pull my clothes on.

“Might as well make it easier to imagine, right?” I purred seductively at her.

“Oh, I knew I liked you.” She giggled.

First Moon Forever 4

I could feel the bass growing as much as the warm feeling was as I approached the door. “You’re covered.” Said the bouncer as he removed the velvet rope to let me in. Once through the doors, I was momentarily overwhelmed by the intensity of the bass, swirling neon lights and all the people on the dance floor. Even with this being exactly what I had expected, it was still just so very much to take in. I closed my eyes and shook my head to try and get my bearings, when I opened them I saw the woman heading onto the dance floor. She winked at me as she beckoned me forward.

With little to no thought about why, I followed behind this beauty as she made her way to the middle of the dance floor. Once I finally made it up to her I tilted my head slightly to look down at her. She couldn’t have been more than five feet. I wasn’t sure how I hadn’t noticed before. She nodded towards me, hands cupped around her mouth. I leaned in as she stood on her tiptoes. “You’re adorable, dance with me?” The way she spoke it sounded like a question, but it didn’t feel like a question. She had the faintest hint of a Russian accent, like maybe she was third generation and it just barely managed to hang around.

“I can’t dance…” I mumbled out.

“Just follow me, I’ve got you.” And like instinct, my body followed her lead. We danced for what must’ve been hours, but it was so nice. I felt like I was where I needed to be at that moment and nothing else mattered. Finally she took me by the hand and led me further into the club and upstairs to a private room. It was much quieter here. She slid into a seat and patted the spot next to her. “Sit, cutie.”

Five foot nothing, pastel little club girl and I was the cute one? I let out a little giggle as I slid in next to her. “Thank you so much. That was so fun!”

“Oh darling, you were fun. You just needed a little nudge is all. I’m Lilliana, and who do I have the pleasure of spending my evening with?”

“Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry, I’m Rachel.” I blushed bright red. How had gotten so wrapped up in everything I hadn’t even introduced myself?

“No need to be sorry, sweetie. It’s been a very quick night, hasn’t it?” She asked and I nodded.  “You must be starving, can I get you anything?” She slid a tablet across the table to us.

“Oh, you don’t need to do that.” I waved my hands at her generosity.

“But I do and I want to. I insist.” She said, pushing the tablet into my hands. I scrolled through the menu looking for something cheap I could eat. “Get your favorite drink too.” She added, to which I nodded. After making my selections I handed it back. “Tequila Sunrise and… awww, nuggies and juice. Precious!” My cheeks flushed anew as she made a quick selection before putting the tablet down. “Now, how about you tell me about you.” And as I did she listened intently. She didn’t even bat an eye when I talked about my fascination with werewolves. She offered a little about herself while we spent the better part of the night chatting, eating and just enjoying each other’s company. At one point she took my phone, not the burner, and called her own. I’ll call you tomorrow, we should get together.
